Just Espresso-ing . . .

GOT myself a new Starbucks tumbler today. Yay! Not for anything else (okay, perhaps because it's also in my alma mater's colour), but I just got encouraged by Hiro's infomercial about going green by doing a simple act of keeping tumblers and mugs instead of buying mineral water and coffee in styros all the time. For most of us, coffee is already a part of our everyday lives, but have we stopped for a while and thought about whatever happens to those thrown cups at the end of the day? I bet not.

I want to encourage all of us to bring water bottles along whenever we're out and keep coffee mugs or tumblers in your cars. This way, we can ask our baristas/drink makers to fill them up with our coffee or drinks and not use those plastic cups that are non-degradable. With this, resources of both ends are being saved. :)

I'm not a superhero (if ever I could become one, I would want to be impenetrable but in jelly form hihi), but I am strongly convicted not to antagonize the Earth even more (or the Watchmen for that matter).

Give the Earth some lovin'. PLEASE

Have you ever thought about moving out and living somewhere else because the place you're staying in is painful and on the verge of falling apart? I'm not talking about your physical houses and condos, well in my case a pigeon hole. I'm talking about our dear Planet Earth painting a picture of a very old woman in silent anguish with chest heaving on her death bed. Did it ever dawn on you that we don't have anywhere else to go to just in case the "owner" of the Earth shoves us away in utter disgust from our wicked ways?

For more than 4.5 billion years, the living beings on earth have gradually adapted to its constant evolution and thus, it has become livable unlike other planets. We can't live in the Moon for it has no atmosphere at all and with six times less surface gravity, and temperatures go from an insanely hot 130°C down to an insanely cold –170°C. You can forget Mars too with its atmosphere containing about 96% poisonous carbon dioxide. I can't even imagine the condition if we go any farther.

Well, even if NASA finds earth-like planets (which is what it is doing now) where we can run to just in case, it would take us billions of lightyears to travel from earth to its proxy. That being said, I believe it's never too late to do something to save the earth. Even if it means just looking after the space around us. I encourage us to take part and support WWF's Earth Hour , a worldwide campaign with a goal of getting 1 billion people to switch off lights for 60 minutes. Wherever you are, please show your support by joining in this unified action to turn off electricity in your homes, offices, schools, shops on the 28th of March @ 8.30 - 9.30PM.
